On March 25, 2025, as part of the teaching of the discipline “Communication in the Scientific Environment” at the Sumy National Agrarian University, a scientific and practical seminar on the topic “Research Integrity: First Steps into Temu” was held. The event was conducted by Artem Artyukhov – Doctor of Economics, Candidate of Technical Sciences, International Pedagogical Engineer (ING. PAED. IGIP), Chairman of the Ethics Committee of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance, member of the ENAI (European Network for Academic Integrity) working group “Educational Materials on Academic Integrity”.
The seminar was an excellent opportunity for graduate students, scientists and teachers not only of SNAU, but also of other universities in the city to gain practical knowledge and discuss current challenges related to academic integrity in scientific activity. Special attention was paid during the event to the ethics of scientific research, the correct design of citations, the prevention of plagiarism, as well as the standards for writing scientific articles.
Artem ARTYUKHOV emphasized the importance of adhering to the principles of academic integrity from the very first steps in the scientific environment. During the interactive part of the seminar, the participants had the opportunity to ask questions, share their own experiences and receive professional recommendations on avoiding typical mistakes when preparing scientific papers.
The event gathered an interested audience – from degree applicants to teachers and young researchers. The discussion took place in a lively and open atmosphere, which contributed to the formation of an understanding that academic integrity is not a formality, but a fundamental component of trust in science.
SNAU continues the practice of involving leading experts to conduct open lectures and seminars that contribute to the development of scientific culture and increase awareness of students with ethical standards of higher education.
