SNAU Is One of the Organizers of All-Ukrainian Agility Competitions

Sumy National Agrarian University, together with the Sumy Regional Dog Training Centre of the Ukrainian Kennel Union and the Sumy team “Adrenaline”, have been organizing the national agility competition “SNAU Cup” for 8 years already.

Agility is a canine sport. Dogs are trained to overcome a series of different obstacles in a certain sequence. Dogs of any breed are allowed to compete, and their handlers can be people of all ages and professions. The “SNAU Cup”, organized by Sumy NAU, has the CACAg rank and the highest rating of qualifiers for the FCI World Agility Championships.

Before the full-scale invasion, the competitions were held on the basis of our university, at the central stadium. Now, due to the territorial proximity of the region to the border with the aggressor state, the venue has been changed to the only indoor agility arena in Ukraine Run for It (Kyiv).

Both professionals and beginners took part in this year’s competition. Over the two days of the event, 400 races were held, and more than 100 sports pairs competed in various categories. “The SNAU Cup brought together athletes from Sumy, Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, and Lviv.

On the first day of the competition, juniors were traditionally honoured.

It was especially nice to see SNAU students on the podium. Yurii BOIKO, a student of the Faculty of Biology and Technology, and his puppy Archie, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, participated in the competition for the first time this year.

It is worth noting that the coaches of the Sumy team “Adrenaline” are also graduates of Sumy NAU, specializing in Cynology, Nataliia BOZHKO and Olena SPIVAK.

The prize fund for the competition was provided by the animal feed company ROYAL CANIN and the well-known domestic manufacturer of dog training products IPO4YOU.
