The theoretical block of the annual Mediaschool in SNAU 2021 was completed on February 25 at Sumy National Agrarian University.
During two weeks 20 participants learnt new aspects in the world of media. They could know how to manage pages on social networks, create and distribute their own brand, work with bloggers, speak publicly, make photo and video content of high quality. The highlight of the media school is that classes for students are conducted not by their usual teachers, but by practitioners – people who have reached success in the media space and can share practical secrets of creating media products and projects in this field.
The first day at the media school began with a lecture on acting and public speech by Andrii Lyubchenko. On the same day the participants learned the rules of designing the Facebook page and algorithms of this social network presented by the editor of the SNAU Promotion Office Anna Horpynych.
Next day together with the director of the Promotion Office Kseniia Blumska-Danko, the students learned to create their own brand and to promote it on Instagram, using practical advice from a graduate of SNAU, a customer service manager of the Bloggers Stock Exchange Anastasiia Stupak.
On the third day the participants learnt to create an online series with a producer Olha Natalukha.
The beginning of the second week of the media school was dedicated to TV journalism. Participants learnt about the rules of creating a TV story from the Honored Journalist Olha Hordus.
Yuliia Yevenko, the director of the “Shokolad” advertising agency, told how to create a brand that everybody loves. Ihor Hannenko and Inna Dmytrenko, the representatives of the Sumy Youth Leisure Center and the Romantica youth center, spoke about leadership and projects for young people.
The marathon of lecturers was closed by the Top photographer Serhii Tisso, who taught the participants to take the right photos for Instagram. A project coordinator of the SNAU International Relations Department Karolina Tkachenko told how to write a good project, create a resume for the team, get a versatile volunteer experience.
Having received theoretical knowledge, participants will finally be able to start creating their own media projects, which will be presented on March 3.
