Diana Derevianchenko, a student rector of Sumy National Agrarian University, took part in a volunteer project in Spain. During the month, representatives of 5 countries: Ukraine, Albania, Lithuania, Turkey, and Spain were preparing a solidarity festival.

The tasks and activities that the volunteers were engaged in on a daily basis were the following:

– Assisting in the preparation of the Solidarity Festival (preparing invitations, creating materials for questions and answers, and spreading information about the event on social media)
– coordination of the event, assistance in conducting it;
– disseminating information and creating a positive impact after the event;
– organizing daily excursions to Casa dos Maza;
– helping to organize a reforestation day, a youth fair, and other events for the local community.

According to Diana, the work was varied, and she gained new skills in both communication and event organization. As a Faculty of Veterinary Medicine student, she worked in the marketing team, where she filmed the entire process of organizing the festival and managed social media.

“During the project, we developed our soft skills, learned Spanish and, of course, English. The purpose of the trip was to organize Solidarity Fast at this festival, and we raised a large amount of money that we later donated to cancer research,” Diana adds.

We sincerely congratulate our student and look forward to participating in other projects and initiatives!
