The first working meeting was held as part of the third work package of the international UNICOM project. The project is aimed at strengthening the social role of universities by intensifying their interaction with communities. The event brought together partners from Ukraine and Europe who jointly defined the work plan, key tasks, and those responsible for the implementation of each stage.
At this stage, Sumy National Agrarian University (SNAU) is acting as the coordinator of one of the key project packages. As part of this activity, the university has formed a schedule of upcoming events that are open to community representatives, scientists, students, and anyone interested in university-community cooperation.
This year, the project plans to establish UNICOM centres in all partner universities, as well as a hackathon, which is the responsibility of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics.
SNAU, in turn, will organise a series of events aimed at strengthening the interaction of universities with
communities, including:
-Round table ‘University and sustainable development of communities: challenges of interaction and development’ – 12 March 2025.
-Workshop ‘Adapting Communities to Climate Change in the Green Recovery of Ukraine’ – 18 April 2025.
– Summer School ‘Hub of Social Ideas’ – 10-12 June 2025.
-Round table ‘Synergy of relevant institutions and international partners to implement the third mission and ensure the sustainability of community development: best practices of Ukraine’ – 14 November 2025.
The purpose of these events is to inspire, educate and create new opportunities for development. We invite everyone to join the events to implement creative ideas together with the SNAU!
