4 February is World Cancer Day. For years, this terrible disease has been taking thousands of lives and moments of happiness from people of different genders, from different families and countries, regardless of social status and connections.
Cancer treatment requires a lot of time and even more money. 135,000 cases of the disease were recorded in Ukraine alone in 2021, and since the start of the full-scale invasion, it has become almost impossible to keep track of statistics. However, not only medicines are needed for treatment. Patients often need blood transfusions.
Concerned students of Sumy National Agrarian University came together and organized a blood donation campaign. Knowing that students do not have unlimited resources for donations, they came up with an idea for something similar – blood donation.
According to Zakhar ALEKSEIENKO, a participant of the campaign:
“Donating blood is an interesting and very important experience. By helping those in need, we demonstrate our humanity. I plan to join blood donation campaigns more than once in the future because I understand their importance.”
SNAU students regularly demonstrate their interest and involvement in volunteering by their own example, and actively encourage everyone to join them. Do not stand aside – do good with us!
