As part of the action “16 Days Against Violence” and for educational purposes, students and staff of Sumy National Agrarian University visited the Sumy Regional Drama and Music Comedy Theatre named after M. Shchepkin.
The audience saw a play “Nelehalka” (“Illegal Immigrant”). This is a unique document of the era – the story of a young Jewish woman about her life, persecutors, helpers and traitors, how she managed to survive illegally up to the end of the war. The play is based on a play of Anatolii Krym, the contemporary Ukrainian writer, screenwriter, the Honored Artist of Ukraine.
Although the play was created in the early 2000s, the theme that rises in it today, unfortunately, remains relevant and painful for Ukrainians. The acting, the atmosphere of that time and the story lines did not leave anyone indifferent.
We sincerely thank the theatre staff for a performance given by actors and actresses.
