FORMATION OF HERDS BASED ON MILK COMPONENTS. MAXIMIZING THE ADDED VALUE OF DAIRY PRODUCTS

The Department of agro-industrial development of the Sumy regional state administration together with the Sumy National Agrarian University held a scientific and practical seminar “Formation of Herds Based on Milk Components. Maximizing the Added Value of Dairy Products”. The event was held on June 29 on the basis of a dairy and breeding farm ALC “Plemzavod “Mykhailivka”, which is located in the village of Pershotravneve, Sumy district.

The event was held in the open air and consisted of two parts: plenary and practical.

Oleksandr MASLAK, director of the Department of agro-industrial development of the Sumy regional state administration, began the plenary session with a welcoming speech. The moderator reported on the state of animal husbandry in the Sumy region and support programs from the regional budget: “Today we came here in a hope to see how they deal with animal husbandry and dairy cattle breeding at this enterprise. This event was organized thanks to the initiative of SNAU, thanks to the support of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine”.

Director of ALC “Plemzavod “Mykhailivka” Mykola ZELENSKYI spoke about the experience they have working at the dairy cattle breeding farm “Plemzavod “Mykhailivka”.

Rector of SNAU, chairman of the Council of the Association of livestock breeders and poultry breeders of Sumy region Volodymyr LADYKA reported on the topic: “Formation of Herds for Obtaining Maximum Added Value of Dairy Products”.

Representatives of the agency for registration and identification of animals informed about the procedure of registration of documents, about farms that use a personal electronic cabinet.

The owner of the private cheese factory O’BEREG Volodymyr OPRYSHKO spoke about the quality and components of milk in the value-added chain.
