The Fulbright Programme is a scholarship to study at US universities for Ukrainian students who have completed their bachelor’s degree.
Postgraduate education in the United States (graduate studies) is a combination of study and individual research work. The system of this education level provides a wide range of opportunities: obtaining a master’s degree (master’s programme); training in a related speciality; preparation for qualifying exams and admission to a postgraduate programme (doctorate programme).
Areas of specialisation: humanities, social sciences, exact, technical and natural sciences
Requirements for candidates:
•to have Ukrainian citizenship and reside in Ukraine at the time of the competition.
•to have a good command of English sufficient for professional communication in an English-speaking academic environment.
•to have at least a bachelor’s degree at the time of the scholarship award (in August 2025).
•to return to Ukraine for 2 years after the end of the grant period in accordance with the requirements of the J-1 visa, which is obtained by participants of exchange programmes.
Grant conditions:
•payment of university tuition fees
•monthly scholarship
•medical insurance
•round-trip ticket
The selection of participants on a competitive basis takes place in Ukraine and involves the following stages:
•verification of documents for completeness and applicants’ compliance with the competition requirements (May 2024)
•review of the works by American and Ukrainian experts and determination of the semi-finalists (June-August 2024)
•interview in English with semi-finalists and selection of finalists by the American-Ukrainian committee (mid-September 2024)
•approval of recommended candidates and selection of universities for the finalists (January-April 2025)
•start of study/grant – August-September 2025.
