RGM GROUP HELD A LECTURE FOR STUDENTS OF SNAU

RGM group is a Sumy-based construction company specialising in the construction of roads and bridges, production of products, sale of building materials and services of special equipment. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, RGM group has shifted its focus to civil and industrial construction.

Close cooperation between Sumy National Agrarian University, in particular the Faculty of Civil Engineering, and RGM Group began in late 2023. At that time, the university and the company signed a Memorandum of Cooperation and created a map of events (more details at https://snau.edu.ua/snau-pidpisav-memorandum-pro-spivpracyu-z-rgm-group/). In addition, RGM Group has already provided the Faculty of Civil Engineering with a road roller and an asphalt paver for practical training in theoretical material. It is worth noting that the company was also a stakeholder in the educational programme “Roads and Transport Facilities”, which was launched in 2021 with the start of the all-Ukrainian Big Construction project.

On 22 February 2024, RGM Group employees held a seminar-lecture on asphalt paving technology for students of Sumy National Agrarian University. The target group were students majoring in Roads and Transport Facilities, Civil Engineering and Construction, and Architecture and Urban Planning. Students of  Sumy College of Civil Engineering were also guests of SNAU, who were told about the conditions of this year’s admission to the university, the course of study and employment prospects.

During the seminar, Oleksandr KUCHERENKO, the Chief Engineer of RGM Group, shared his knowledge with the young people. The second part of the event was the practical application of the skills acquired by the students. The speaker taught them how to use construction equipment involved in the asphalt paving process, which is already in the laboratory of the Department of Building Structures of the SNAU.

Oleksandr SOLAROV, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, emphasises that such lectures will be held systematically from now on. Stakeholders of educational programmes will share their knowledge to integrate young people into the work process and help them find future employers.

Representatives of RGM Group were happy to share their effective experience with future specialists. They are not going to stop there. They also plan to conduct joint scientific research, open lectures and seminars, employ young people and provide their own laboratories for practical training.
