On the 5th of May the representatives of the Ukrainian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce ICC Ukraine visited Sumy National Agrarian University. At the invitation of the Rector of the University Volodymyr Ladyka, representatives of an influential international organization came to Sumy to witness the educational, scientific and technological capabilities of SNAU, as well as to discuss possible areas of cooperation.
During the visit a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Sumy NAU and the National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce. The guests visited the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Economics and Management of SNAU, where they discussed the possibility of establishing a business school on the basis of these two faculties. In addition, the vice-rector for academic activity of Sumy NAU Valerii Zhmailov acquainted guests with the academic opportunities of the university, international projects and partners.
The representatives of ICC Ukraine praised the efforts of SNAU in terms of theoretical and practical training of students, as well as cooperation with business. After discussing possible areas of cooperation, the negotiators identified the most promising areas.
In order to fix the agreements, the parties signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. “Technology transfer is an important issue for both science and international economic organisations today. We need to find each other and work to the benefit of both parties. The memorandum we are signing today provides an opportunity to work out progressive business ideas, as well as to strengthen our long-standing friendly relations”, said Volodymyr Demura, the head of the ICC Ukraine Regional Office in Sumy region.
The International Chamber of Commerce, ICC is an international economic organization that aims to promote international trade and investment through the implementation of world best practices. It has 127 offices around the world and 94 national committees. The Ukrainian National Committee of the ICC was established as the first among the countries of the post-Soviet space.
