SNAU CONCLUDED A MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION WITH THE INSTITUTE OF FORENSIC EXAMINATIONS NAMED AFTER M. BOCARIUS

Sumy National Agrarian University continues to expand cooperation with business, research institutions and public authorities, which allows to improve the infrastructure of faculties and laboratories.

On May 31, Serhii Naumenko, the Head of the Sumy Branch of the National Research Center “Institute of Forenisic Science named after Honored Professor M.S. Bokarius” visited SNAU. During the meeting with the rector of Sumy NAU Volodymyr Ladyka and the deans of the faculty of Veterinary Medicine Oleksandr Nechyporenko and Ihor Kovalenko, the faculty of Agrotechnologies and Natural Resource Management, the representative of the Institute learnt the opportunities of SNAU and discussed possible areas of cooperation.

As a result of the negotiations, a Memorandum of Cooperation and Interaction in the field of forensic and scientific activities was concluded. The document provides improving the infrastructure of laboratories of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, as well as the use of the SNAU base for forensic examination. Currently, there are only four such branches in Ukraine –three branches are in Kharkiv and one is in Sumy. Since 2020, the law has expanded the powers of forensic experts.

From now they can, for example, determine the level of damage to animals. The laboratories of Veterinary Faculty can be useful. And the Faculty of Agrotechnologies and Natural Resource Management can help conduct forest expertise.
