SNAU DELEGATION RETURNED FROM A STUDY AND RESEARCH VISIT TO PARIS

The delegation from SNAU returned from a study and research visit under the grant # Erasmus + Jean Monet Project “Production and dissemination of circular economy ideas in accordance with the EU Action Plan” № 620966-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-PROJECT “, which took place in Paris (France).

The participants had a working meeting at Paris-Saclay University, in the research center CentraleSupélec, with which Sumy NAU has been cooperating for two years and has several joint articles on the topic of circular economy in leading journals. The university has 48,000 students, 4,600 graduate students, 9,000 researchers and 275 laboratories.

“It was surprising that 2/3 of students have a six-month internship at enterprises during their studies in the second and third years and then return again to get a diploma. In the first semester everyone has to study abroad. It is also interesting that the graduates of the university, which we visited, are former Presidents of France, CEO of Nissan and Renault, a billionaire businessman of Moderna company, a president and CEO of the Louis Vuitton group of companies. So, there are no problems finding businesses for quality internships for students,  as well as to get funds for laboratories, halls, equipment and experiments “, –  Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Director of the Promotion Office Kseniia Blumska-Danko said.

“Having some experience of work with foreign universities, this is the first time I visit such a huge institution, where almost 50,000 students study. Today, only one of the 70 scientific laboratories, the one we visited, publishes more than 100 scientific articles a year in leading journals,”, –  Vice-Rector for Research Work, Doctor of Economics, Professor Yurii Danko said.

At the meeting with the head of the laboratory Professor Bernard Yannou, SNAU representatives discussed prospects for further cooperation in this area, including joint research and the development of grant applications for the future.
