SNAU TEAM IS THE WINNER OF THE PROJECT COMPETITION AND PLANS TO CREATE A TOURISTIC ROUTE THROUGH LISHCHYNSKII ESTATE

One of the elements of tourism development in Sumy district is the revival of historical and architectural monuments. 29 km from Sumy is a unique Lishchynskii estate built in the late nineteenth century, designed by architect V. H. Zaleskii. The unicity of the park for Sumy region is that there are not typical trees for the region – plane trees, ginkgo, Amur corktree, butternut (Juglans cinerea L.) and black walnut (Juglans nigra L.), silver spruce, Weymouth pine, California, Canadian and Virgin spruce, Schwedler and swamp maple.
This object could become a real tourist magnet of Sumy region, contributing to the development of the territory and well-being of the people who live here.
Representatives of Sumy National Agrarian University came up with the idea to regional project pitching. And they won! So, now the authors of the project will be able to receive financial support for its implementation.
As part of the project, the team represented by Svitlana Yaroshchuk plans to develop a touristic route together with local authorities, equip recreation areas and information stands, plant new trees.
Our congratulations to the scientists of SNAU on winning the competition. We wish success and inspiration in the implementation of this important project. We are sure that it will promote the Sumy region as a center of green tourism, patriotic education of children and youth, as well as sustainable development of Sumy communities.
