For four days (from November 6 to 9, 2023), the scientists of Sumy National Agrarian University, including Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Activities Yurii DANKO, Associate Professor of the Department of Marketing and Logistics, Director of the Career Orientation Promotion Office Kseniia BLIUMSKA-DANKO, and Head of the International Projects Sector of SNAU, Associate Professor Department of Ecology and Botany Olena MELNYK took part in a study visit to Lund University (Sweden). The visit took place within the framework of the UNICOM international project, which is introduced by an international consortium of universities.

Lund University is considered to be one of the oldest and most famous universities in Scandinavia. The institution of higher education was founded in 1666 and since then has become the alma mater of the most talented and intelligent figures in the world history, among whom, for example, the son of the Ukrainian hetman Hryhor ORLYK. Moreover, Lund University is included in the rating of “TOP-100 world universities”.

The relevance of the visit is described on the official Facebook page by the Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Activities of SNAU Yurii DANKO.

During the first day of training, the scientists of our university had the opportunity to listen to information about the ways to start cooperation with Lund University, the legal basis for scientific communication and cooperation between Swedish universities.

The next day, the participants of the program visited the Vattenhallen Science Centre – a science centre based at Lund University. They were surprised by the innovativeness of the exhibitions and developments presented there. Participants found a common feature with SNAU: representatives of local businesses were involved in the creation of the scientific centre, which is a common practice for Ukrainian higher education institutions.

On November 8, they spoke about communications and attended guided tours of the city. In the evening, Sumy NAU scientists took part in a coordination meeting.

In conclusion, on the last day of the project, representatives of Lund University talked about innovations and modern technologies used in the educational process. The representatives of the higher education institutions from various parts of Europe exchanged views on staying in Sweden as part of the UNICOM project during the final discussion.
