During the week, representatives of Sumy NAU had the opportunity to discuss working issues and identify ways of further cooperation with their colleagues from China.
Nataliia KOLODNENKO, head of the Academic Department, was delegated to China to conduct a working visit from Sumy National Agrarian University. In general, 2 representatives from our region made the international trip.
During her working visit, Nataliia KOLODNENKO visited the Hubei Institute of Engineering and Technology, which operates on the principle of Ukrainian colleges. The SNAU representative says that the administration of the institution is interested in our engineering specialties and plans to campaign for its graduates to continue their bachelor’s studies at Sumy NAU. At this stage of cooperation, the Hubei Institute is already choosing 2 specialties for its students to continue their education.
Later, they got acquainted with the functioning of Hubei University of Science and Technology. More than 20,000 students receive a bachelour’s degree there. The university specializes in pedagogy and medicine, but has also started to introduce agricultural specialties. International partners offer to conduct joint research with our professors and publish it in the Scopus database. The Hubei University of Science and Technology also emphasizes that they need experienced specialists, so they offer employment prospects to graduate students of the SNAU who have already defended their theses.
They also held a working roundtable in the city of Dengfeng, at Wushu College, where more than 35,000 students study in 17 specialties. The educational institution consists of 2 campuses located in different districts. The partners are interested in exchanging students and teachers, paying special attention to the Management and Marketing specialties, which are successfully implemented at Sumy NAU.
The Ukrainian embassy was another venue for working talks. They discussed the current state of Ukrainian higher education, ways to improve it, and cooperation with Chinese institutions.
