Recently, students of the Faculty of Biology and Technology conducted a field course on the discipline “Technology of Production of Goat Breeding Products” at the enterprise “Zinka”, located in the Kyiv region.
On this farm, as of now, there are 2,700 goats of French breeding. The company regularly participates in exhibitions of goat breeders in France and already has a good reputation among partners abroad.
During the class, the Head of the farm introduced the students with the technology of keeping, feeding, breeding animals and processing dairy products. As “Zinka” enterprise also specializes in goat milk processing, the young people tasted the products: milk, kefir, yogurts and various types of cheese.
On the same day, a visiting introductory lecture was held at the “Velesova Farm”. This farm is unique in the field of cattle breeding on the territory of Ukraine. Students were introduced to the basic technological conditions of production and primary processing of milk. The owner of the farm Mykhailo TRAVETSKYI said that the main task of the future development of the farm is the creation of a selection centre for the revival of disappearing domestic livestock breeds and the organization of a centre of Ukrainian breeds for the further development of our native, Ukrainian.
