REPRESENTATIVES OF SNAU TOOK PART IN THE MEETING OF THE PRESIDIUM OF THE CONGRESS OF LOCAL AND REGIONAL AUTHORITIES

The delegation of Sumy National Agrarian University participated in an extended meeting of the Presidium of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine.

The meeting was held on October 12 in Kyiv in offline and online format. The main topic of discussion was to support farms in Sumy Oblast and Chernihiv Oblast that keep herds of cows and cultivate land during this and next years.

An extended meeting of the Presidium of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine was chaired by the Head of the Office of the Head of State Andrii YERMAK with the participation of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys SHMYHAL.

The delegation of the Sumy National Agrarian University consisting of Rector Volodymyr LADYKA, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Vladyslav ZUBKO, employees and students of the same faculty had the opportunity to listen to the reports from government and business representatives.

Rector of Sumy National Agrarian University, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Volodymyr LADYKA told the audience about the policy of Sumy Oblast in the field of agriculture, including animal husbandry (from the official Facebook page):

“Having the opportunity to make a short speech, I would note that Sumy Oblast has formed a policy of systematic support for agriculture, including the livestock industry. I am sure that in this we differ positively from many regions that, having not received support for cattle last year, also don’t have it this year, because there were no resources. The Sumy Regional Military Administration and the Regional Council made absolutely the right step in 2023. 14 million hryvnias of support is a fairly good contribution to the stabilization of agriculture. “

During the extended meeting, they also talked about the possibility of compensation for the period when the farm was operating, but did not receive any support. The agrarians of Sumy Oblast reported on the challenges and problems that agribusiness owners in our region are currently facing.

Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola SOLSKYI reported that support for Family Farms is already being formed according to the new budget and will provide additional financial assistance. Moreover, during the report, he noted about grant opportunities for representatives of agribusiness.

The SNAU delegation is sincerely grateful for the opportunity to attend meetings of national significance. For the institution, an important component of the educational process is the training of qualified specialists, who can meet the requirements of business and the situation in Ukraine. This is the reason of high motivation to participate in such meetings.
