REPRESENTATIVES OF THE LEADING AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES OF SUMY REGION SPOKE ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT OF AGRO-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX

The agro-industrial complex in Ukraine and in Sumy region is one of the largest industries, which gives almost half of the funds to the budget of the country. However, even such a large and promising industry has its difficulties and challenges. The representatives of the leading agricultural enterprises of the region came together at the meeting “The Ways of Development of Agro-Industrial Complex of Sumy Region and Cooperation between Business, Community and Government” to discuss how to develop the industry that feeds the country. The meeting took place on June 24.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Sumy Regional Council Viktor Fedorchenko, Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of Sumy Regional State Administration Oleksandr Maslak and representatives of agricultural enterprises of Sumy region.
During the meeting participants were able to discuss the most important issues that concern farmers today: state support, development of social infrastructure. Regional managers were able to hear firsthand about the problem areas of the sector. After exchanging views the participants highlighted the most promising areas of cooperation. For example, to give some assistance in the restoration of the Sumy Regional Oncology Center and provide it with the necessary equipment.
This is not the first time when Sumy NAU has become a platform for a dialogue between business, government and educators. Only such an approach, the rector of the university Volodymyr Ladyka is convinced, allows to ensure synergy in the preservation and development of agriculture in the region.
