SAFE NUTRITION IS THE WAY TO HEALTH: SNAU SCIENTISTS SPOKE ABOUT THE QUALITY OF NUTRITION AT SCHOOLS

A healthy, balanced diet is the key to good health and preservation of the functions of the whole body. The quality of food is especially important in childhood, when the foundations for harmonious and healthy human development are laid. Therefore, the issue of the quality of children’s nutrition at school is extremely relevant today. As the technologies and standards are outdated at most secondary schools of Ukraine, it is time to revise and modernize them.
On February 18 on the initiative of the regional state administration, the seminar devoted to creation of the concept of the organization of safe and high-quality food at schools of Sumy region for 2021-2025 took place in Sumy. Among the speakers of the seminar were the scientists from Sumy National Agrarian University. The head of the department of technology of production and processing of livestock products and cynology Yuliia Pavlenko and the acting head of the department of technology and food safety Maryna Samilyk told the participants about the technology of production of “soft” A2 milk and its benefits for a balanced diet.
By the way, Olena Zelenska’s pilot project “Glass of Milk” is being actively discussed now. It provides the daily menu of Ukrainian schools with dairy products. At the same time, the inclusion of A2 milk products can significantly improve the health of Ukrainian schoolchildren.
Last year for the first time in Ukraine Sumy National Agrarian University together with Sumy cheese factory O’BEREG introduced mass production of “soft” A2 milk.
