Sumy National Agrarian University improved the results of its scientific work by 15 places compared to May 2023 according to the results of the National H-index Ranking.
National H-index Ranking is an international non-commercial rating created for the purpose of transparent and unified ranking of institutions specializing in scientific research. The key indicator here is the Hirsch index – a well-known, popular and stable metric in the field of scientific research. A group of scientists from the USA, Great Britain, Ukraine, the Netherlands, and Turkey are working on the implementation of the project.
Data for ranking are collected from open (Google Scholar) and semi-closed (Scopus and Web of Science) resources. Recalculation of indicators takes place in May and November, which ensures maximum consideration of the needs of scientific institutions (data from the official website of the National H-index Ranking https://ua.h-index.com/uk/about).
In general, institutions were ranked according to 3 indexes: Scopus, WoS and Google Scholar.
Scopus is a tool for tracking the citations of articles published in scientific publications. According to this indicator, SNAU took 31st place, which is 3 positions higher compared to May 2023. The best scientist is V`iacheslav TARELNYK.
Web of Science or WoS is a platform on which databases of scientific literature and patents are located. SNAU improved its results and took 39th place, which is 4 places higher than in the II quarter of 2023.
Google Scholar is an international rating of scientific productivity, influence and authority of scientific organizations. Our educational institution took 73rd place. Yulian ZLOBIN became the best scientist according to this indicator.
In addition, as part of the National H-index Ranking, the TOP 1000 best scientists are distinguished. In the Scopus database, V`iacheslav TARELNYK, head of the department of technical service, doctor of technical sciences, professor, entered the ranking. The TOP 1000 Ukrainian scientists in the Google Scholar 2023 database included three employees of the Sumy National Agrarian University: Yulian ZLOBIN, professor, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Academician of the International Academy of Human Problems, Tetiana FOTINA, Head of the Department of Veterinary Expertise, Microbiology, of animal hygiene and safety and quality of livestock products of SNAU, doctor of veterinary sciences, professor, Andrii TOLBATOV, candidate of technical sciences, associate professor.
