SNAU REPRESENTATIVES TOOK PART IN SUMMARIZING THE RESULTS OF 2020 OF THE PROJECT "IMPROVEMENT OF SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE IN UKRAINE"

On January 29, a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the international project "Improvement of
Sustainable Agriculture in Ukraine", implemented by the Swiss Cooperation Office in Ukraine and
"Nestle" company, in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences, took place. As Sumy National
Agrarian University is the only academic partner of the project in Ukraine, the university representatives
became direct participants of the meeting. In particular, Larysa Kalachevska, Inna Koblianska, Viktor
Onychko, Vladyslav Kovalenko, Alina Brychko, Serhii Bashlai, Tetiana Khvorost and Ihor Kovalenko took
part in the meeting.
The event was also attended by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Agriculture Taras Vysotskyi, who
praised the achievements of the project in 2019-2020.
During the meeting the participants discussed the first results of the implementation of this large-scale
project. In particular, some farms were selected, on the example of which an experimental advisory
(business) model would be introduced. Selected farms will be provided with consulting support for the
introduction of the best technologies for growing wheat and mustard for further production of wheat
flour and mustard seeds. Their experience will be used for further analysis and improvement of the
advisory model.
The participants also discussed other steps how to implement the project and bring the Ukrainian agro-
industrial complex closer to sustainable development.
