HALO Trust is currently one of the world’s largest non-governmental British and American non-profit organizations that conducts humanitarian demining, which eliminates the threat of explosive remnants of war: it finds explosive devices, marks territories, draws maps, clears unexploded ordnance in former combat zones, and liaises with communities on mine action. The organization has about 10,000 deminers worldwide. Local staff make up 98 percent of the organization.
