THE DAY OF FOOD INDUSTRY WORKERS WAS CELEBRATED AT SNAU

On October 12, 2023, representatives of business, government and education gathered at Sumy National Agrarian University to celebrate the Day of Food Industry Workers.

The meeting was moderated by Oleksandr Maslak, Director of the Department of Agricultural Development of Sumy Regional State Administration, who in his welcoming speech emphasized the challenges and prospects for the development of food industry. He also emphasized the dedication of the workers who, from the first days of the full-scale invasion, sometimes putting their own lives at risk, provided the region with the necessary products.

Taras SAVCHENKO, First Deputy Head of the Sumy Regional State Administration, also congratulated the participants on their professional holiday and thanked them for their dedication, high professionalism, and persistent daily victorious work to ensure the food security of our country/

The Rector of Sumy National Agrarian University, Academician of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine Volodymyr Ladyka noted that a significant responsibility for the development of the food industry sector lies with our teachers of the Faculty of Food Technologies, as they will subsequently provide business with personnel, and also recalled the moment when the food industry sector saved Ukraine:

“It’s nice to see teachers, students and business representatives in this room. I think the vast majority of you have experienced the moment when you were in despair when the full-scale invasion began. Two sectors saved us then: agriculture and food. Now we can see a positive trend in the development of the food industry, even paying attention to the fullness of shelves in stores.”

During the meeting, SNAU employees were honoured with awards. Nataliia BOLHOVA, Dean of the Faculty of Food Technologies, received a diploma from the Head of the Sumy Regional State Administration. Volodymyr LADYKA, Rector of Sumy National Agrarian University, presented certificates of appreciation from Sumy National Agrarian University to Maryna SAMILYK, Head of the Department of Food Technology and Safety, Vasyl TYSHCHENKO, Associate Professor of the Department of Food Technology and Safety, and Anna HELIKH, Associate Professor of the Department of Food Technology and Safety.
