Every spring Sumy National Agrarian University hosts the Agropolitical Debates competition, which aims to expand the worldview of future specialists in the agricultural sector, as well as to teach them to defend their point of view on important agrarian and political issues.
The competition “Agropolitical Debates” is organized by the State Institution “Scientific and Methodological Center on Informational and Analytical Support for Higher Educational Establishments “Agroosvita”.
It consists of two stages: the first (selective) stage is held by agrarian universities until May 1; the second stage (the final stage) is held as a part of the “The meeting of student leaders of agricultural education” or in Kyiv on the basis of the Scientific and Methodological Center of Higher and Professional Education.
The criteria for determining the winners of agro-debates were: awareness of participants on topical issues in the field of agricultural policy; disclosure of the topic of debate; appropriate arguments; culture of debate; literacy and public speaking.
8 teams competed in the first round of the competition “Agropolitical Debates – 2021”. The team of the Faculty of Law took the 1st place, the team of the Faculty of Economics and Management took the 2nd place and the team of the Faculty of Food Technologies took the 3rd place.
In addition, the jury awarded the best speaker Yevheniia Zinchenko, who will represent the university at the second stage of the competition.
