TWO SNAU SCIENTISTS WON THE EQUIPMENT GRANT COMPETITION

The news of the results of the competition for small grants for researchers from the Biotechnology Initiative of the American-Ukrainian Foundation was a pleasant start of a new scientific year. Among 14 winners from different parts of Ukraine, there were two representatives of Sumy National Agrarian University: Ihor Vereshchahin – a leading agronomist-researcher of the Department of Breeding and Seed Production named after prof. M.D. Honcharov – presented the project “Using genetic analysis to select the best crops on various grounds.” Olha Bakumenko – Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Plant Protection presented her project “Using molecular methods to determine the optimal strains of winter wheat.” SNAU scientists received the appropriate certificates and equipment for the PCR-diagnostics laboratory Ag-Lab Erasmus-Project.

We sincerely congratulate our scientists and we are sure that the projects proposed by them will help to promote the sustainable development of communities and territories of Ukraine and ensure the rapid development of the agro-industrial sphere. Special thanks also go to the Biotechnology Initiative of the American-Ukrainian Foundation for supporting SNAU research projects!
