Until the 27 th of December the registration is open for a Free Course in Academic Writing in English
as part of a joint with the Czech project “AgriSciences Platform for Strengthening Science in Higher
Education Institutions of Ukraine”.
The Course is for young researchers or scholars who want to improve their English language skills.
Upon completion of the course, the Czech side will issue a certificate. Registration for a free course in
academic writing in English has been opened within the joint project with the Czech “AgriSciences Platform
for Strengthening Science in Higher Education Institutions of Ukraine”, implemented by a consortium of 5
Ukrainian universities, including SNAU.
The project aims to strengthen the capacity and cooperation of young teachers, researchers and
masters and doctoral students in selected Ukrainian universities. The course “Fundamentals of Academic
Writing” is designed for young researchers or scholars who want to improve the quality of scientific English.
The recording will be closed on 27 th of December, 2020. As a result of the successful completion of the
course “Fundamentals of Academic Writing” in English, participants will receive the certificate and will:
– be able to know the structure of a research article;
– be able to develop a research article;
– have practical skills in the practice of analytical and synthetic analysis when writing an article;
– have developed academic reading skills;
– have deep academic writing skills;
– know useful phrases for writing an academic article.
The course includes 40 hours of training and will run from the 8 th of January to the 28 th of February,
2021 and will be conducted through the Canvas learning management system, which is a flexible
collaborative software application that allows both asynchronous and synchronous learning and teaching,
involvement in joint work in a group to create an academic atmosphere. The certificates will be issued to
those who successfully pass at least 70% of the tasks.
Who can apply?
The candidates should:
– be a lecturer or a graduate student of SNAU;
– have advanced reading and writing skills in English (B2);
– have regular and reliable access to high-speed Internet;
– be prepared to spend 6 to 7 hours a week online for a 6-week course;
– have a firm determination to improve academic research skills;
– be ready to take an active part in online discussions and complete all tasks on time;
– be a graduate student of the 1st or 2nd year of study.
